Netizens' praise is pouring over this father's answer when a stranger came and approached him and his wife asking to adopt their 2-year-old daughter.
JoseHallorina, a vlogger who does social experiments in the streets of Manila approached a family of trash scavenger by the street to ask them if he can adopt their baby.
He got the inspiration when he visited an orphanage. According to him, the staff there told him of horrific stories of how parents of the children there abandon their child just about anywhere. Most of the kids there were left by their biological parents on the streets, in public restrooms, trash, and just about anywhere they can leave them.
Dignity and hope
At first, he approached the couple and started small talk. Until he found out that they are from Samar and they have a 5-year-old and an 11-year-old back there.
He also found out that they earn about 200-300 per day by working and scavenging trash from dusk until noon. He asked why they are here and the father answered that he wants to go back home to Samar if only he had money for fare tickets.
When he has eased up the conversation, Jose asked if they want to give their baby up and he will adopt her so he can give her a better future.
The father nonchalantly answered that he can easily make his child study in Samar. Adoption clearly is not even an option.
Revelation
In the end, Jose made it clear that it is only a social experiment and that he was proud of the kind of father Arnel is. He asked how much the ticket was for them to get home, he was told P3000. So he said, he will come back to them and give them money to go home.
